Nurture Group

Hayes Park School has its own Nurture Group as part of the Nurture Group Network and has been given the Quality Mark Award in recognition of the work the Nurture Group does in school.

The group is designed specifically for children in Nursery and is located in the Sunshine Room, just off of the main Nursery.  It is a quiet and friendly environment for a small number of children, usually 10 – 12 children with 2 consistent adults.

The main aim of the Sunshine Group is to enable children who may find the Nursery overwhelming, to settle into, in a safe and secure environment.

The group allows children to develop personal and social skills through a range of structured activities. It is also an opportunity for children to develop positive relationships with their peers and adults.

The activities focus specifically on addressing the child’s individual needs as well as covering the six areas of learning identified in the Foundation Stage Curriculum.
